Philippe Starck

“Subversive, ethical, visionary, political, humorous, poetic… this is how I see my duty as a designer.” Philippe Starck is a French designer known for his interior, product, industrial and architectural design.

In the early 1980s, Philippe Starck designed several buildings in Japan, with forms previously unseen, such as Nani Nani, Asahi Beer Hall, Baron Vert. He has been designing hotels all over the world, including the Royalton in New York, the Delano in Miami, the Mondrian in Los Angeles, the St Martin’s Lane and Sanderson in London etc. Starck, who loves ships and the sea, designed the new infrastructure for the Port Adriano harbour on the south-west bay of Palma de Mallorca. He also designed Steve Jobs’ yacht, Venus.

Lodha Group appointed Philippe Starck for “YOO inspired by Starck”, to design the residences and common spaces of Lodha Evoq; a 63 storey luxury tower, ensconced within Mumbai’s new city center: New Cuffe Parade. It boasts exclusive designer residences with private pools & gardens and select penthouses featuring personal elevators and private pools.
